More than Half of Young Koreans Skip Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for some people. But other people choose to skip it. In South Korea, almost 60% of people 20s don't eat breakfast. It's not clear if they're doing it to get some more sleep or they simply don't want breakfast. According to data from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, which showed that 34% of all South Koreans skip breakfast. South Korean men were found to be a little more likely to miss breakfast, but women in their 20s were the group most likely to skip it. According to The Korea Herald, in South Korea, breakfast is seen as very important and local governments have been encouraging people to eat breakfast to stay healthy.


Experts do not all agree about the importance of breakfast. Some studies have suggested that people who eat breakfast often have a healthy lifestyle. But it has not been possible to show that eating breakfast is the reason for their good health. Most experts agree that a balanced diet is the most important thing, whether or not that includes breakfast.
